IMO, American Gangster was wayyyy over rated. Bronx tale was more gangster than that. If you gonna go with a denzel gangster film, Training Day was a way better choice.

Where's "Once Upon A Time In America"?

1. The Godfather -"leave the gun, take the cannoli." Ruling the underworld isn't easy. No gangster film is held in higher regard. Brando. Oscars. Period.
2. Goodfellas - "Do I amuse you?" the rawest look at gangsterdom ever. Everyone delivering Oscar performances. A Scorsese masterpiece.
3.The Godfather Part II - "I'll make him an offer he don't refuse" A gangster history lesson. DeNiro and Pacino's gangster gift to us.
4. Once Upon a Time in America - "when you've been betrayed by a friend you hit back."To live and to die an American gangster.
5. Pulp Fiction - Tarantino's gangster kaleidescopic masterpiece, that is twisting yet lucid, comedic yet unsettling.
6. The Untouchables - The Godfather of gangsters Al Capone immortalized on the big screen, DeNiro unequivocally kills the role.
7. Reservoir Dogs - Too many hoods spoil the job. Tarantino just knows how to make movies.
8. White Heat - "made it ma, Top of the world" What was a gangster before this film? Cagney. Nuff said.
9. Scarface - "Say hello to my little friend" the epic rise and fall of Tony Montana. Maybe the most revered gangster of them all.
10. The King of New York - "if a nickel bag is sold in the park...I want in!" Christopher Walken's Frank White is the epitome of the gangster hood.

I have to agree. I think that A Bronx Tale was more gangster.

I have to rent that Once Upon A Time In America...I have never seen it.

Once upon a time in America is well worth the watch Tariq, although the version that you'll probably rent will be the edited interpretation. The original is more than 3 1/2 hrs! Have no illusions though, this is qua-lit-eee shit. James Woods, DeNiro, a very young Pesci. This is must-see. Without it, you haven't done your favorites justice.
